I think I mentioned my angel and demon story was accepted for publication in an anthology for Less Than Three Press. If you aren't familiar with Less Than Three Press, it was started by maderr , who I've actually been reading for ages. I LOVE her stories! She used to have a website where all of her stories were free to read and a few published by Lulu (I think). Anyway, LT3 Press is both a website with a monthly fee where you can read serial stories every week, but it also publishes the stories when they are complete and you can buy separately from the serial fiction. LT3 Press also hosts other authors and accepts admissions.

My story is Perfect Angel, under my pen name Rachelle Cochran and is part of the That Famous Happy End Anthology. It's the story of Kalyana Charu, an angel, who goes to work for a demon, the Viscount Avanindra Dasmaya, after being banished from the capital by his lover, the Crown Prince. It will first be published as a series and when all the short stories of the anthology have been posted, it will be published in an ebook and print book. If you want to read it now, however, you'll have to join the site. It looks like it will be in three parts and published every two weeks. The first story from the anthology is already posted.

Here's a link to the LT3 Press website, in case you want to check it out:  lessthanthreepress.com/

I previously posted an excerpt (long before I knew it would be published). Here it is again, only edited:

"Kalyana Charu?" The demon's voice was soft, lilting, almost musical, and gentle. Another surprise.

"Yes," Kalyana whispered.

"I am Viscount Avanindra Dasmaya. Welcome to my home. I was advised that you are a master librarian and scribe. That you worked for the royal family for the past three years, but asked for another assignment."

Kalyana gulped, swallowing his surprise. That last part was certainly not true, but it would neatly cover the scandal the royal Rajam family wanted to cover. "Yes, my lord."

"I was not made aware of your beauty, however." The viscount took a step forward; Kalyana held his ground, his chin raised in not-quite defiance. He could not, however, hold back a flinch when the viscount raised his hand and brushed a strand of hair from Kalyana's cheek.

"Such a beautiful color, like the reflection of the morning sun. And your skin," he ran the back of his fingers down Kalyana's cheek, "so pale, like new cream. Delicious."

Kalyana shivered, fearful that the demon meant it literally, that the old tales were true. "I would prefer that you keep your hands to yourself," Kalyana said, determined to keep himself free of the demon.

"As you wish, my dear. For the time being, in any case. I mean you no harm, I assure you," the viscount replied as he took a step back.

"Because angels and demons have traditionally gotten along so well." Kalyana didn't try to disguise the disgust in his voice.

Avanindra raised one delicate eyebrow. "You've had some association with demons?"

Kalyana dropped his eyes. "Yes."

"They've been unpleasant experiences?" It was barely a question.

Avanindra put two fingers under Kalyana's chin and raised it, seeming to ignore as Kalyana flinched again. "You have no reason to believe me, but I will assure you again—I have no intention of harming you. My interest lies in your skills as a librarian and scribe. To be honest, however, upon seeing you, I am intrigued. You are a vision of loveliness and, though I can tell you are sweetness personified, I sense a strength that I find compelling. Even so, I will not act upon even that if you are so averse to my... charms."

Kalyana turned his head sharply, dislodging the cool fingers from his chin, but made no reply.

And there you have it!

OMG where have I been!? I'm so happy for you getting published! Just now saw your earlier post about not so nice things, so I'm glad that at least something is going right for you. This little section of your story sounds amazing! I think I'd probably want to read it as a print book, though, so that I could carry it around with me and not have to wait for installments. (I think the suspense would be torture!) How long is it and could you let us know for sure when it will come out in print form? I'm going to update my LJ settings to notify me as soon as you make new posts. *hugs and squees*
